Honda again stiking the Indian market. as we all know that Honda is one of the best among the two wheelers and four wheelers. Now they had another version of Honda activa.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) has launched the new variant of its gearless scooter, Honda Activa. A lots of changes are made through the new version of Honda activa. They had even upgraded on the engine side also. Carrying the legacy of Activa, the new Activa now comes with new styling, better mileage and hoards of new features. Powered with an all new 110cc 4st engine, the new Honda Activa produces 8bhp at 7500rpm and 0.9Kgm of torque at 5500rpm. Honda is claiming 15% better mileage for the new Activa, compared to its 102cc predecessor.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI), the 100% owned 2-wheeler subsidiary of the Honda Motor Company, Japan – the world’s largest manufacturer of 2-wheelers, today unveiled the New Honda Activa. Carrying the legacy of Activa, the new Activa now comes with refreshing new style, more mileage and hoard of New features. With this, the new Activa shall also be the most preferred family scooter in the Indian market.
Powered with an 110cc Honda engine, the New Activa comes with a 15% increased mileage which has been enabled through various cutting edge technologies. The Combi-brake in the Deluxe variant is an important highlight as New Activa will be the first scooter in the Indian market to have this feature. This technology enables shorter braking distance and stable braking for a normal rider.
The New Activa has timeless looks and style because of its new design, charming headlights with Halogen lamp, clear winkers and elegant aluminium grabrail. Its metal body ensures more durability while the Tuff-up tube in rear tyre makes it more reliable. Among other attractive features of the New Activa include: Increased underseat storage capacity and Key Shutter .
A leader in the scooter market, Activa has redefined the definition of Scooter in India. With a unisex appeal and providing true value for money, Honda Activa has been popular vehicle for everyone and has been co-used amongst all family members. The New Activa aims to further expand the market and also attract the existing customers. The New Honda Activa would be available at the lucrative price of Rs 39,800 (New Delhi), Rs 41,300 (Kochin), Rs 41,340 (Bengaluru) and Rs 41,320 (Kolkata). The prices mentioned are ex-showroom and of the Std Variant. The Deluxe variant will be launched soon.

After the great success from the Honda Activa, Honda had once again hit the market with their gear less vehicle Honda Aviator. There is not much difference from their own Honda activa. Only in the appearance only the Honda Aviator is different to that of the Honda Activa. Also the Honda Activa's engine had tuned for a little bit and thus its mileage had increased much when compared to that of the Activa. Activa had got a mileage of 45 kmpl and Aviator had got a mileage of 48 kmpl.

'XITE - the Electric Scooter' from India to UK

The XITE Electric Scooter is planned for launch in UK market in February '09 although it was launched a year ago in India and is currently being used on the road here.

The XITE scooter is the smart choice for commuters, city dwellers, fleet operators, delivery services, and municipalities. Its fun to ride, easy to operate, cheap to run, quiet, and helps your city and the planet - all at the same time. It’s the electric vehicle to solve today’s transportation and environmental problems.

The Scooter has a top speed of around 30mph and a range of 30-35 miles and can take two people with luggage space. The maximum motor output 1.852 KW. Road speed 27.8 mph and power engine speed 595 rpm. The XITE-scooterette redefines electric vehicle performance.

It comes with a manufacturer's warranty for 1 year which covers mechanical parts and 6 months covering electrical parts including Battery (Sealed Lead Acid or Silicon Gel pack). A service check-up once in 6 months is recommended. The battery life depends on the degree of discharge, for example, if the battery is always allowed to fully discharge its life cycle would reach to 108 times; however if the battery is charged when only 30 percent of the current is discharged, its life cycle will reach to 1000 times. The brushless DC electric motor is swing-arm mounted, The own designed motor controller and Green saver Batteries 48-volt, 27 Ah, 1kW-h Silicon battery pack further optimizes performance. A fully discharged battery will recharge to 80% capacity is less than 8 hours.

While outwardly similar to a petrol scooter/motorcycle, the XITE scooter is completely different in almost every respect. The innovative design of the XITE scooter focuses on achieving extended range, high performance, minimal maintenance, reduced production costs, and zero emissions.

The projected introductory offer price should not exceed £900-£1000.
