Nitrogen gas in tyres

Filling nitrogen gas in tyres

In India filling nitrogen gas is not very much common. But in the other countries they filling of nitrogen in tyres is very mych common. From the past many years itself rcing cars, aricrafts, and even the space shuttle is using nitrogen in its tyres. There are so many advantages and disadvantages of filling nitrogen in tyres. Also in India there is another factor also - whenever so many people are trying one thing then only others will come into use with it. Likewise Indian are not much aware of the nitrogen filling procedures and how to maintain it. But in so many petrol pumps in India also instead of air there is nitrogen filling apparatus is also provided. During puncture ther is the problem exists. ie, When a problem of puncture occurs there is not any nitrogen gas available at ordinary shops. So the wastage of time and money will occur. Anyway by filling those nitrogen gas there are some advanatages and disadvantages. Some of them are....

Advantages

  • Nitrogen reduces the running temperature of the tyre. The moisture content of nitrogen leads to a cooler running tyre, which is advantageous when the car is operating at its maximum load and speed capacity.
  • Nitrogen in tyres improves the ride quality. That gas is very slightly lighter than air and thus, benefits the tires in terms of un-sprung weight.
  • It is assumed that Nitrogen increases tyre life. It reduces the operating temperature during times of load and speed and thus, enhances the life of a tyre.
  • It is believed that nitrogen keeps tyre pressures more constant. The gas is assumed to provide more stable pressure range in connection to the tyre temperature. However, again, the factor is applicable in times of heavy load/high-speed conditions.
  • Tyres are susceptible to loss of pressure as a result of being porous in nature. Due to its chemical structure, Nitrogen leak out slowly as compared to compressed air. Therefore, it slows the rate of pressure loss.
  • Oxygen reacts with the tyre and rim materials causing oxidation or the rust formation in the metal parts. Nitrogen, being an inert gas, does not react with the tyre and rim materials.

Disadvantages

  • Inflating tires with Nitrogen is quite costly. The cost generally comes to somewhere around 25 to 50 per tyre for a passenger car.
  • Filling tyres with nitrogen requires more maintenance as compared to compressed gas.
  • The availability factor is the biggest disadvantage of inflating tyres with nitrogen, as the gas is not readily available. It is usually found only with specialist tyre dealers.

Placing nets instead of original grills

Placing nets on front grills will surely make the car a sporty look. Usually when the car is getting modified everyone will change the front grill also. Then they would place those nets inorder to get the sports luks.... Now on the roads we can see somany cars having this type of grills infront of the cars. Not only it brings out sporty luk but also brings more air to rush inside in the engine.Actually everyone knows that it is also a great advantage for the vehicles. Here are some of the photos of the cars which are modified.....

Airflow in cars

We know that for a car to run in a proper manner there are so many factors that are to be taken into account. Not only the external parts but also the internal parts of the cars also. Internal parts means the elements that is being added on to the engine system. It may consists of the air flow regulator, fuel regulator, valves,etc..... Here we can have a look at the air flow regulator.

Air, Spark and Fuel together reacts to burst and generate energy. Its important that air flow is regulated and controlled with precision and the Throttle Body manages it efficiently. The throttle body sits between the air filter and the intake manifold regulating air in response to the accelerator. The throttle plate inside the throttle body is called the butterfly valve that controls the airflow.

We can mod the throttle body too to improve performance and this can be done by doing a throttle body enlargement. This is a process in which the diameter of the TB(Throttle Body) is increased by shaving it by 40mm or 50mm based on the type of car. Doing this mod will increase the airflow into the engine and the air mass sensor will detect the extra air intake and communicates with the ECU to inject more fuel hence extra power is generated. Injection of fuel than stock configuration translates to bad fuel efficiency, a sacrifice for that extra torque.

There are bolt on kits for hassle free upgrade and not having to break your head on making a right mod on the stock throttle body. Its best if the car is installed with a Free Flow Exhaust and better to have the engine Ported and Polished as well to squeeze the juice out of a TB enlargement mod.

Alloy wheels for cars

Alloys - We know that alloy wheels for cars not only improve the looks of the car but also improves the performance of the vehicle also. That is by increasing the stability, speed, efficiency etc.....A number of alloy wheel patterns are available in the market. Also there are alloy wheels from different companies also. Since 2008 there is a trend of putting alloys in the vehicle rather than doing any other extra accessories. But even when if there is alloys so many were not satisfied with their vehicles. Anyway my personal opinion for that is do as much of the alterations as possible without spoling the vehicle.... anyway here are some new type of alloys in the market.......

Fire exhausts on cars

Many times so many had thought of spit flame in cars. But it is not much popular in India. But in foreign countries we know that this tech is not a big matter. The flame throwers are one those simple kits that spit flame through your exhaust system. The kit comprises of a control box and a spark plug, here is how the flames are produced, through a pulsing spark plug ignites the unburnt fuel in the exhaust system.

Its a simple concept of igniting unburnt fuel present in the exhaust system. By an ignition bypass procedure the car's ignition is shut down for fuel to pass through the cylinders to reach the exhaust end and the kit ignites the unburnt fuel spitting out flames. This type of method usually have the fuel mix with oil hence having to change oil earlier than usual or rather often.

The other method is by having a line run from the valve through the exhaust system to the end of the pipe and have the spark to ignite the fuel sprayed through the line having more controlled flames. I am not a great fan of flame throwers though but something that I would like to see on show cars only and not on regular street cars.

Blue headlights for bikes - safe or not

Is the blue headlights for the bike safe or not?

When saying it in a single word we can say that its answer is "NO". It is due to so many of the reasons. we can simply view a bulb which is having a blue colour light.

In the above picture we can easily evaluate that a simple blue tinted film is being coated over the bulb. As everyone says that blue light will give much light than the ordinary yellow ones. But that concept is wrong. It is actually like this , White light will give much more light than the ordinary yellow ones. But there is no such only white bulbs available in markets. There is only neon bulbs available in markets. But it is not coming only as a bulb, But a coil and some other arrangement is also coming with it. So the cost of that will be also much higher than the ordinary bulbs.

This blue tinted headlights give sufficient light for the rider. But the problem is that light may not be much longer and sharper. So it is good to use neon bulbs rather than using the blue headlight bulbs. If the neon bulbs is not coming into our range,go and get ordinary halogen bulbs. It is much sharper, longer and more light giving bulbs.
